Coaching Roundtable
Coaches Weigh In On New Signing Window
Share:

Tennis recruits don’t need to wait as long this year to sign a National Letter of Intent if they can’t decide on a school by mid-November.

Instead of two separate fall and spring windows, this year’s senior class can sign any time between November 14, 2018 and August 1, 2019 with Division I or II schools.

The NLI is a binding agreement between the student-athlete and the school. The NLI is a voluntary program. No prospective student-athlete or parent is required to sign, nor is any institution required to join the program.

By signing, the prospective student-athlete agrees to attend the institution full-time for one academic year, and the institution agrees to provide financial aid for one academic year.

How will this change in the signing window impact recruiting? Coaches from around the country provided their opinions in this month’s Roundtable.
