Columbia Stands Out for Ravichander
Share:

Ishaan Ravichander took a meticulous approach to his college recruiting process. The New Jersey native visited nearly 15 schools and researched numerous others over the last year.

Any time he was close to a school while traveling for a tournament, Ravichander stopped in for a tour. He wasn’t afraid to ask questions, and requested personal development plans from all the coaches.

"I didn't want to leave any stone unturned. I talked to pretty much any school that reached out to me,” Ravichander said. “I wanted to give everything a chance because you never know what can happen or what you may like."

Ravichander felt a connection to Columbia that resonated on a personal level. The blue chip senior saw a lot of himself in the Ivy League program, and knew it was the right fit. He committed to the Lions last month.

"They are super gritty and like to outwork the competition. They are never expected to be good, but work their way there. I've had a chip on my shoulder like that too,” Ravichander said. “I've never been the most talented guy, and I have always outworked everyone around me to get where I am."
