The NCAA granting players an extra year of eligibility because of the Covid-shortened 2020 season meant more seniors were returning to programs.

Clemson head coach Robbie Weiss knew he didn’t have a place for Foster, but let him know Alabama may be a good fit. Before joining the Tigers in 2019, Weiss was an assistant coach at Alabama.

Foster began corresponding with the Crimson Tide staff in late August, and signed with the school last month.

"I had not really looked at Alabama at all until I had to re-evaluate the process,” Foster said. “It just seems like a good program and it seems to be on the way up.
