Cincinnati's Pendergast Finds Best Opportunity in Her Hometown
Share:

Elizabeth Pendergast was convinced she wanted to attend college in the South. The Cincinnati, Ohio native had family in that part of the country and loved the warmer weather.

But once she took an unofficial visit to the University of Cincinnati, Pendergast realized it may not be so bad to stay closer to home.

"I made a pros and cons list for the colleges I was looking at, and the only con on the list for UC was that it wasn't in the South," Pendergast said. "It had a great tennis program, it had a really good nursing program and I loved the girls on the team."

Pendergast told a friend on UC’s team if head coach Eric Toth offered her a scholarship, she would definitely commit.

"I was not actually thinking he would," said Pendergast, a four-star senior who signed with the Bearcats in November. "But I think the scholarship was also a big part of my decision too. Everything worked out so well."
