The ATP and WTA professionals put away their racquets this month, but the ITF Pro Circuit and ITF Junior Circuit continue to produce notable performances, with young Americans earning their first professional singles titles, and international juniors collecting trophies across the globe. The fall college season also came to a close in November, with the final major in Surprise, Arizona producing one unsurprising champion and a first-time winner.
Katarina Jokic
The University of Georgia sophomore earned her first major title in collegiate competition this month at the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships in Surprise. The 20-year-old from Bosnia, seeded No. 9, defeated No. 11 seed Kate Fahey of Michigan 6-3, 7-5 in the final, capping a run of six consecutive straight-sets victories. The SEC Freshman of the Year last season, Jokic went 10-1 this fall, propelling her to No. 1 in the ITA National rankings. (Photo Credit: ITA)
