The four-star senior from Anderson, South Carolina heard back from a few, but not UConn. After a few months, a friend told Loudermilk the Huskies had hired a new associate head coach.
Loudermilk decided to email again, and got a quick response.
“I sent him a video and he loved it and we started talking more and more,” Loudermilk said of Christian Appleman. “He was the one coach I was talking to most of the time. The communication was great.”
Loudermilk arranged an official visit to Storrs, Connecticut last November and realized the college offered everything he wanted. The future pre-med student decided to commit to UConn.
"I just loved the campus the moment I stepped onto it,” he said. “I had a meeting with the guys and that was a great experience. They were hilarious and they were really welcoming. They were like a tight-knit family."
