Another year... and another edition of "Intriguing Questions" from columnist Colette Lewis of ZooTennis.com. (Last year's questions are available here.) Today, Colette poses eight questions about junior and college tennis.

For four straight years the Americans girls have claimed the ITF's 14-andunder World Junior Tennis title on the red clay of the Czech Republic, all in the same dramatic fashion: split the two singles matches, then claim the championship with a three-set victory in doubles. (Interesting that the ITF eschews the no-ad, match tiebreaker format used in its under-18 events). This streak, unprecedented in the event's 20-year history, doesn't mean the U.S. will dominate women's tennis any time soon, but it does provide evidence there's talent and grit in the pipeline.

2) Will Stanford re-establish its dynasty in women's tennis?

If any school could justify calling three years without an NCAA title a drought, it would be Lele Forood's Cardinal, who have won six in her ten years as head coach, including last year's thrilling 4-3 victory over Florida. With royal blue chips Kristie Ahn and Nicole Gibbs joining a team that lost just one starter to graduation, only injury seems likely to keep Stanford from celebrating title No. 17 on its home courts in Palo Alto this May.
