Where Are They Now?
Conversation with Erin Burdette
by Julie Wrege, 2 January 2006
Our Where Are They Now? article series catches up with well-known former junior tennis players, taking a look at their college careers and beyond. This month, we catch up with Stanford standout Erin Burdette, who graduated from "The Farm" just this past year.
Burdette had a storied career at Stanford, a program which can truly be called a dynasty in women's tennis. During her collegiate career from 2001-2005 under coach Lele Forood, Burdette was part of three NCAA Championship teams (2002, 2004, and 2005), and she earned All-American honors all four years. Burdette was part of two doubles teams that spent much time ranked #1 in the nation. Burdette won the ITA National Doubles Team of the Year award with Lauren Barnikow during her junior year and with Alice Barnes during her senior year.
I recently got the chance to spend some time talking with Burdette about junior tennis, her college career, and her future plans.
