We have solid showing in ITA's; clearly a stronger and improved team as all players won at least one match. JaHaun Freeman-Clark showed she is a true #1 player in extending #3 seed 7-5, 6-2 in her second match. Groover is Finalist in B Draw.

SAA Championships
Come in as 7th seed v #2 seed. Win #1 doubles, 1,3,& 6 singles, have match point at #2 singles but lose 7-6 third set and fall 5-4. Almost a great upset victory!

September 2013 ITA
Freshman JaHaun Freeman-Clark defeats Rhodes #1 in 3 sets in first round, loses to highly ranked Kim Wa 7-5,6-2. Freeman-Clark/Walker won 1st rd doubles, lost to seeded Emory Team. Francis/Wilcox made finals A Draw consolation.
Tricia Groover defeated 3 opponents and was Finalist in the B Draw. We had a good showing as all seven girls won at least one match. We won't sneak up on anyone now!

He has over 45 years of tennis teaching/coaching experience, having worked with over 10 All-Americans during his career. As a player, he was ranked #5 nationally by the USTA in the 35's and 40's, and has been selected GA. Pro of the Year four times, and Sr. Player of the Year twice. Coach Howell was MVP and Captain of his Vanderbilt Team in 1969-70. He believes in being a positive coach and offers shortcuts to playing better faster! Coach Howell is determined to continue the progress the teams made this past year, by recruiting smart players with upside potential who want an opportunity to play college tennis.

Campus Showdowns are one-day, short-format tournaments open to juniors, college players, professionals, and adults. These events give junior players a chance to compete against college competition on a college campus.
