TOURNAMENTS
Let me introduce the 2022 Div 1A regional girls varsity high school tennis champions, "The Oak Hall Eagles" Oak Hall now heads into the final elite 8 tennis team championship tournament next Monday and Tuesday where some of the toughest high school girls tennis matches across the country will be played in Florida the Mecca of top tennis players. Oak Hall if lucky enough during the tournament will face off against recent 5 year in a row state champions St Andrew's from The Miami area. No task now seems like too tall of an order for the Eagles as they pounded out a 4-0 win against St John's tonight on the Oak Hall courts to win the Div 1-A Regional Championship. Leading the charge for the Eagles was once again Allison Bizub crushing her opponent 6-0,6-0 at #3 singles. Shortly after Allison cooly strode off the court with her smashing victory and big smile on her face Kate Pickens not to be left off the podium bewildered her opponent into a 6-2, 6-1 drubbing at #2 singles. While Ella Moser was dropping a close 1st set 5-7, at #4 singles Molly Thelosen stepped up to fill gap at #5 singles and pulled off a surprise upset by out volleying her opponent 6-0, 6-2. Oak Hall now up 3-0 laid on the crushing knock out blow to St John's when TaKaii Adderly pounded out a 7-5, 6-2 championship victory on the St John's undefeated season champion at #1 singles. The girls have done it with season filled with ups and down from the season ending injury loss of Nour Oweissesssess who we hope to have back next season and the slow comeback recovery injury of Allison Bizub late in season. Against all odds we have made the Florida state championships as true winners that never quit and the fight to the the last point attitude. Stay tuned for next week's tennis updates from the state championship finals
