Eureka! There’s gold in Plano, Texas.
Actually, there are two more USTA gold balls courtesy of Lucas Brown, who captured the Boys 12 singles and doubles hardcourt titles on Saturday at the Mobile Tennis Center in Alabama. The fourth-seeded Brown first won a 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 singles battle with No. 1 Aidan Kim of Milford, Mich.

Brown then teamed up with Learner Tien (Irvine, Calif.) as the top doubles seeds fought the No. 2 tandem of Kim and Nicholas Godsick (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) in the doubles final. Brown and Tien emerged as the 7-6 (8), 6-7 (4), 6-4 winners.
“I stayed positive. because I had to come back in both matches,” Brown said. “We were down three set points in the first set of doubles, and I was down 4-2 in the third in singles. I just did not give up. I have been building up my serve, forehand, and backhand. But my serve has given me lots of points, and it’s helped me start the point on offense.”
