Nguyen, Yin Capture 12s Titles, First Gold Balls

The Jim Reffkin Tennis Center has often been described as the “heartbeat of tennis in Tucson.”
In spite of cold weather in the Southern Arizona community, the up-and-coming stars of American tennis battled and persevered at the USTA Boys and Girls 12s National Winter Championships.
Singles and Doubles Champion Amber Yin
The boys singles title went to ninth-seeded Mason Nguyen of El Dorado Hills, California. Top-seeded Amber Yin of Ballwin, Missouri brought home the gold in girls singles and doubles. Yin and partner Annika Renganathan of Sammamish, Washington, were the No. 1-seeded tandem. The fourth-seeded duo of brothers Abhinav and Prathinav Chunduru of Plano, Texas, emerged as the boys doubles champions.
