Rhett Bailey was like many young players thinking about college. He aspired to join a Division I program. But the two-star junior from Dallas became more realistic about his future once he began doing more research.
Realizing he could use tennis to help get into a strong academic institution, Bailey thought Division III programs may be a better fit. He started emailing colleges coaches, and hopes to meet more at the inaugural College Tennis Showcase presented by American College Placement June 22-23 at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
“I was really interested in attending my first showcase because you need more exposure and you need more coaches to know you and see you play,” said Bailey, who attends Highland High. “I think it’s important to get your name out there and talk to more coaches in person.”
