The three-star senior from Atlanta achieved a major career milestone by committing to Washington & Lee University.
"My goal with tennis has always been to use it to help me get into a high-ranked academic institution. That is always how I have approached it,” Kistler said. “Washington & Lee is exactly the type of school I wanted to attend."
The W&L coaches reached out to Kistler very early in his recruiting process. Although he had never heard of the Division III college located in Lexington, Virginia before, he eventually realized how much it had to offer.
"I was looking at some of the higher Division I programs, and I always dreamed of playing in the Ivy League,” he said. “But then it just happened that I didn't really fall for those schools ranking-wise, so once Washington & Lee reached out I started to really consider it. It's a school where I can have an immediate impact in the lineup, and seemed like a perfect fit."
