Calissa Dellabarca may have moved to different states, but she never forgot her time living in Santa Barbara, California.

While residing along the coast, she was exposed to college tennis by attending matches at UC Santa Barbara. It fostered a deep appreciation for the format that never wavered.

“I used to go out and watch the Gaucho girls play and it was an awesome experience to see how much they loved the game. I think that really translated on the court,” Dellabarca said. “I love the team aspect of college tennis and being able to compete alongside a great group of girls.”

Dellabarca will be returning to the UCSB campus next fall as a historical recruit. The Albuquerque, New Mexico resident is the first blue chip to sign with the Gauchos since Tennis Recruiting Network began tracking classes.

“I really enjoyed the recruiting process. I met so many great coaches, but ultimately I felt like UCSB was the right fit for me,” Dellabarca said. “It has great academics, the tennis program is on the rise and the coaching staff is really supportive.”
