Shivika Agrawal doesn’t remember exactly how the University of Montana came to her attention in the recruiting process. But once it did, she decided to find out more.

The four-star senior from Chandler, Arizona had never visited the state, and had some preconceived notions about what it must be like.

“I first thought, ‘Oh, there is like no one there. It’s Montana, no one lives there compared to Arizona right?’ And then I thought it would be super cold there and maybe it will be too cold for me,” Agrawal said. “But once I started researching the school and talking to the coach more, I fell in love with it.”

Agrawal has signed with Montana, choosing the Grizzlies over some Division III schools she was considering.

“After reviewing all the options, I made a pro/con sheet and I felt like Montana was the best option,” she said. “I was also thinking about going to the University of Arizona and just not play tennis there. But I really wanted to play college tennis.”
