WIMBLEDON - Great Britain's Mark Ceban and Serbia's Luna Vujovic competed in the Tennis Europe Summer Cups on clay the week before the Wimbledon 14 & Under Championships, helping their countries qualify for next month's International Tennis Federation World Junior Tennis team event in the Czech Republic.

The abrupt transition to grass, and coping with wind and rain in the four-day event, proved no problem for either, with top seed Ceban defeating No. 3 seed Svit Suljic of Slovenia 7-6(5), 6-3 and No. 5 seed Vujovic beating No. 4 seed Hollie Smart of Great Britain 6-3, 6-1 in the finals.
The first day of round-robin competition featuring 16 boys and 16 girls from 17 countries went smoothly, but persistent rain throughout day two sent the boys indoors for their second round robin matches. The new All England Lawn Tennis Indoor Centre, just across the street from Centre Court, hosted the eight boys matches with the full complement of officials, ball boys and girls and live scoring. The all-white dress code, including hard court shoes meeting that standard, was still in effect, but the surface did present a new challenge to the competitors.
