Nick Meister describes himself as "pretty much just a Southern California kid," listing the beach, skateboarding and hanging out with friends as his favorite pastimes. But once the 17-year-old rising senior at Tesoro High School captured the Southern California Junior Sectional 18s singles and doubles titles last month, there wasn't much time for those pursuits. Instead, he was busy opening recruiting mail and on July 1, fielding phone calls from college coaches across the country.
