On the first night David Lins visited Harvard, the team attended an alumni event. Lins wasn’t allowed to join the Crimson, but was impressed by how everyone stayed connected and how much support the former players offered.
"It's really special how in touch all the alumni are with each other," Lins said. "It's something I really want to be a part of. It seemed like a great opportunity for my future and an opportunity I didn't want to pass on."

Lins didn’t. The blue chip junior from Boca Raton, Florida has verbally committed to play for Harvard under head coach Andrew Rueb and assistant coach Sanam Singh.
“The combination of tennis and academics was something I thought was truly unparalleled, along with the incredible guidance of Coach Rueb and Coach Sanam,” Lins said. “I believe under them I will be able to really further my tennis. That was something Coach Rueb was very passionate about. He was very confident that even with the incredible academics at Harvard, I will not have to give up any tennis goals I have.”
