TCU, UNC Earn Top Seeds in NCAA Division I Championships

Texas Christian University was awarded the top seed in the 2022 NCAA Division I men’s championship tournament and North Carolina was awarded the top seed in the women’s tournament.
The brackets were revealed on Monday evening during a selection show on NCAA.com.
Joining TCU as seeds in the men’s draw are: No. 2 Florida, No. 3 Baylor, No. 4 Ohio State, No. 5 Michigan, No. 6 Tennessee, No. 7 Virginia, No. 8 Kentucky, No. 9 Wake Forest, No. 10 South Carolina, No. 11 Georgia, No. 12 Texas, No. 13 USC, No. 14 Harvard, No. 15 North Carolina and No. 16 Middle Tennessee.
Joining UNC as the seeds in the women’s draw are: No. 2 Oklahoma, No. 3 Duke, No. 4 Texas, No. 5 Virginia, No. 6 NC State, No. 7 Texas A&M, No. 8 Pepperdine, No. 9 Miami, No. 10 Ohio State, No. 11 Cal, No. 12 Oklahoma State, No. 13 Auburn, No. 14 Georgia, No. 15 Stanford and No. 16 Florida.
First- and second-round play takes place this weekend and features four teams playing in a single-elimination format. The winner of each site advances to Super Regionals May 13 or 14.
The championship rounds will be at the Khan Outdoor Tennis Complex on the University of Illinois campus in Champaign, Illinois from May 19 to May 28. The team championship will take place on May 19-22, followed by individual bracket play May 23-28.
Florida is the defending men’s champion. The Gators captured the first title in program history last season.
Texas is the defending women’s champion. The Longhorns won their third national title last season.
