American Juniors Selected to Compete in ITF World Finals
Share:

The United States Tennis Association announced the six juniors nominated to represent the U.S. at the ITF World Junior Tennis Finals, the world’s premier 14-and-under team competition, which will take place August 4-9 in Prostejov, Czechia.

The rosters for all the countries were released last week (boys; girls) following the completion of qualification campaigns across the globe.

The American boys and girls teams advanced through qualifying in April and will compete in the 16-team finals, which consist of pool play followed by the knockout round. Each matchup consists of two singles matches and one doubles match.

Many of today’s top professional players participated in the event, going on to represent their nations at senior level, as well as earning individual honors at Grand Slams and on the ATP and WTA Tours.

The list includes: Carlos Alcaraz, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Bianca Andreescu, Lorenzo Musetti, Katerina Siniakova, Juan Martin del Potro, Marketa Vondrousova, Alex de Minaur, Ash Barty, Felix Auger Aliassime, Frances Tiafoe, Linda Noskova, Mirra Andreeva, Elina Svitolina and Amanda Anisimova.

The U.S. boys enter the event as the reigning champions, while the U.S. girls finished runner-up in 2024. The Czechia girls are attempting to win their fourth straight title, which would match the US record (2007-10), and ninth overall to move ahead of Russia on the all-time ITF World Junior Tennis champions list.

The U.S. has won seven World Junior Tennis girls’ titles (1992, 2007-10, 2013, 2017) and seven World Junior Tennis boys’ titles (2002-03, 2008, 2012, 2018, 2019, 2024).

Sweden has qualified in the girls event for the first time since 1992 and Austria has qualified for the boys event for the first time since 1998, when the Austrians won the title.
