FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Three New International Junior Tennis Tournaments Coming to South Florida.
Rick Workman, USPTA, has announced the creation of three new international junior tennis tournaments to begin this December in South Florida: The "TennisRecruiting.net International Showcase Series".
Players will compete for rankings generated by The Tennis Recruiting Network, the premier resource for college coaches to identify recruiting prospects for their teams and scholarships.
Workman will serve as tournament director for the three tournaments. He has organized numerous international junior tournaments for 25 years, including the "Eddie Herr" International (FL), the "Little Mo" Internationals (CA, FL & Forest Hills, NY); the Pan American ITF Junior Championships (Tulsa, OK) and others.
The Primary venue will be the Tennis Club of Fort Lauderdale, 600 Tennis Club Drive, Fort Lauderdale, FL, 33311. Some matches may be played at nearby facilities. Tournament Dates are:
The annual November-December pilgrimage of the world's best young tennis players to Florida has become a tradition beginning over 80 years ago through the efforts of Eddie Herr, a visionary Hollywood, FL., tennis enthusiast. He organized the Orange Bowl; the Sunshine Cup & Continental Cup; the "Eddie Herr" International and other international competitions. He invited the international tennis community to bring their best young players to the United States to play in December, and they came! There is currently no other location in the world with more international junior players congregating to compete than South Florida in December. The "Eddie Herr" International recently fielded over 2200 entries representing 97 nations!
Workman says: "The need for additional opportunities for the International & USA juniors to 'mix' with one another in a meaningful way has been very clear to me for some time. The two groups will benefit by more competition with one another and college coaches will have more direct results between the groups to make good decisions for their scholarship awards.
"TennisReruiting.net is the obvious platform for these competitions. The short 3-day tournaments with 'back-draws' allow players to enter before, after, in-between and if they experience early elimination from a specific competition that brought them to Florida. Players can maximize their exposure and results for coaches during their time here.
"The new 'International Junior Showcase Series' will complement their highly successful National Showcase Series of tournaments."
