FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Tennis Recruiting Network (TRN), a premier source of information for junior and college tennis, is excited to announce that veteran journalist Rhiannon Potkey has joined TRN in the role of Content Strategist. Potkey will be responsible for creating, writing and editing content at TRN.
The TRN website, available at TennisRecruiting.net, offers a wide range of content and services for college-bound athletes, coaches, and tennis enthusiasts.
"Editorial content has been part of TRN since our launch in 2005," said Dallas Oliver, VP of Business Development at TRN. "But hiring an experienced sportswriter with deep connections to college tennis is a game-changer for us. The articles that Rhiannon has written for TRN as a freelance writer over the past few years are some of the best-received articles in our history. We expect the overall quality of the content at our website to take a huge leap forward."
Potkey brings 19 years of journalism experience to TRN. She has covered all sports at every level during her career and has a passion for finding great stories. Her tennis coverage spans from juniors to college to the professional tours. She has covered the U.S. Open, junior sectional and national events, college conference championships and Davis Cup matches.
Potkey began her journalism career at the Ventura County Star in 1998, reporting in an area rich with tennis talent and home of the Pac-12 Championships at The Ojai. She has covered BYU athletics for the Salt Lake Tribune and most recently University of Tennessee football for the Knoxville News Sentinel. Potkey has been a regular contributor to TRN for the last six years.
"I am thrilled to join the TRN team on a full-time basis and help generate distinctive stories that highlight the players, coaches and issues in the sport," Potkey said. "The tennis community spans the world, yet is intimately connected through a love of the game and its participants. I hope I can provide information that readers find interesting and illuminating."
A self-professed tomboy, Potkey was born in New Hampshire and grew up in Southern California playing tennis, basketball, soccer and softball. She graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in psychology.
