TOURNAMENTS
Playing #1 singles, Taylor went 4-0 at the IHSTCA tournament June 10-11, 2010, defeating along the way, Emily Reuland (4-star) 6-2,2-6,10-8.
Tri-County Tennis Tournament in Peoria, Illinois June 27, 2008: Taylor defeated #1 seed and defending champ Rachel Ngo 7-5,5-7,7-5 in a 4 hr.47 minute G18s Final which began at 3 p.m. in light rain on clay and ended w/darkness approaching. Taylor & Rachel are friends and teammates on the MTHS girls' varsity tennis team.
Taylor played #1 singles in the inaugural IHSTCA (Illinois High School Tennis Coaches Association) Tournament June 14, 2008. She was undefeated, not losing a set, while her team finished in 2nd place.
HIGH SCHOOL
In 4 yrs. of varsity high school tennis, Taylor's record (singles and doubles) is 165-18, with losses only to state qualifiers. For the 3rd consecutive year, Taylor was named PEoria Journal-Star girls' tennis Player of the Year (go to www.pjstar.com/sports for story) .
Taylor was 3-2 at 2010 state tennis finals, defeating 3-star players Danielle Dixon & Haley Ilcewicz. Taylor was selected Honorable Mention All-State singles player, w/a 33-48 place finish.
10/16/10 Taylor won her 3rd consecutive Peoria-area H.S. Sectional singles title, qualifying for her 4th Illinois state tournament. The team won its 4th consecutive sectional title by one point.
10/09/10 Taylor helped her team win a 4th consecutive Mid-Illini conference title by winning #1 doubles. Over the past 4 yrs., Taylor has won all 4 divisions: 2007 #2 doubles, 2008 #2 singles, 2009 #1 singles.
10/2/10 playing #1 singles at Bloomington Invitational, Taylor defeated Maggie Helms (Moline), 3-star Amanda Studnicki (Normal West) & Lauren Yoder (Bloomington). Taylor's only loss was to 5-star Adesuwa Osabuohien (Homewood Flossmoor) in 3rd-set match tiebreak.
9/4/10 Taylor won the #1 singles at Central Illinois Invitational in Springfield, helping her team win the 11-team tourney. Taylor def. Annie Deal, Katherine Farris, Megan Zumbahlen.
Taylor attends Metamora Township High School, and runs track in the spring.
2009 season: Taylor played #1 singles and defended her singles Peoria-area sectional title, qualifying her for state. Taylor was named Peoria Journal-Star girls' tennis Player of Year.
2008 season: Taylor played #2 singles and again qualified for State as she defeated #1 seed and teammate Rachel Ngo in the Peoria-area sectional final. Taylor also played #1 doubles w/Rachel. She & Rachel were named PEoria Journal Star co-Players of Year.
2007 season: Taylor qualified for IHSA state tournament as a freshman in doubles, winning 2 matches there in October. She & her partner placed 3rd at sectionals.
