TOURNAMENTS
Coached year-round from 6-10 years old, I had to step away from tennis/coaching at the critical ages of 10-14; missing valuable years of tournament experience & practice. However, I was able to pick it up up again & started entering sanctioned tournaments midway through 2nd year 14's.
Multiple coaching changes over the years as well as the aforementioned absence from coaching/tournaments put me at a disadvantage as it related to tournament toughness/experience/ranking.
That aside, I'm a truly love the game of tennis and am a very hard worker. I believe that I have a lot to offer a team and a coach who is loyal, trustworthy and is willing to give 110% to me becoming the best that I can be because that's what I will give in return. I will get up at 4am and put in all the work that is asked of me every day; without complaint.
I know my shortcomings and I really work on them daily to make them go away. I also believe in my ability to be a gamechanger in my life as well as the lives of others both on & off the court... But mostly I believe that my athleticism, awareness intellect, mental toughness and determination-properly guided, will soon all come completely together to make me a force to be reckoned with & even though I am behind a lot of people I don't ever doubt this about myself; I believe in me.
I cross train with a former professional boxing coach to try and give me the edge I missed by not playing those 4 years and I also give that 110% effort.
My consistency in stroke production and adaption to changes are settling into my game and I work hard at developing my transitions and being a better and quicker thinker on the court versus just being a big hitter of winners; which I have come to learn don't win matches against equal or greater competition.
While not always reflected here due to players in my event(s), I average 3 sanctioned tourneys monthly. I've had success agst 2 star players at tourneys unlisted here in a Buford, Ga. tourney in June and Greenwood SC in June 2013 (Festival of Flowers).
I have a 3.64 GPA but expect an increase mid year reporting time and I have a stellar record of outstanding leadership & service to community and my own non-profit called Power is Giving, Inc. www.powerisgiving.org
